Hey, Eden Keeper! 👋
Yes, we know: it’s been a while since we last caught up, but let us explain! We had a few projects in mind for Dot, but we’ve decided to put it on hold for now. We want to focus on Microeden and give it the shape we’ve been imagining since last year.
It’s been exactly a year since we introduced ourselves to the public at Maker Faire Rome 2025. We’ll be back at the fair this year, from October 23 to 25!
What goals had we set for ourselves?
We wanted to build a complete software platform for managing farming activities, along with an ecosystem dedicated to controlling and monitoring IoT devices in crop production. The goal was to provide automation that helps optimise resource use and reduce waste in the agri-tech sector.
We also wanted to reach individual users, farms and schools. To do that, we developed a range of open-source tools that will allow us, together with the Microeden community, to build applications for taking care of green spaces simply and efficiently.
All of this was necessary to achieve our goal: creating a complete ecosystem of Microeden software and devices, shaped around our idea of a great user experience.
So, what have we been working on?
Here’s a quick overview of what we’ve developed:
- An IoT platform compatible with hardware such as Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi and field computers, with support for MQTT and LoRaWAN protocols through The Things Network.
- Farm management software that lets you plan your farm logbook, organise your farm and integrate IoT technology in just a few clicks.
- The MyDot carrier board for Arduino Nano ESP32, Arduino Nano 33 IoT, Arduino Nano Matter and other 3.3 V Arduino boards, with a dedicated development environment that doesn’t require any coding.
- Subscription plans for different needs, including a free basic plan.
In this article, we’ll tell you more about each project. Then we’ll invite you to try out what we’ve built for yourself!
My Microeden: your devices, always connected
Every irrigation and automation project needs a stable, reliable dashboard that you can manage from your phone. That’s why we’re introducing My Microeden, our platform for IoT devices.

My Microeden lets you add devices that are compatible with an MQTT client. It also provides a transparent broker, free for up to two devices, for complete, two-way control.
You can organise and customise how your devices look using a simple visual editor. For each device, you can customise widgets and automations, connect with Telegram bots, receive app notifications and change its behaviour based on sensor readings. You can also create automations that help reduce resource use.

Adding a device to the platform is simple: a guided setup creates the credentials you need to connect directly to the MQTT broker. If you need to build a specific application with Python, MicroPython, C++ or another language, the system can also generate a working code template.

Agry: our vision for farm management software
You might be wondering: why build farm management software? We wanted to give the Microeden community a tool that brings farming activities and IoT automation together in one place. And because we believe in open source, Agry also allows outside developers to build integrations and applications for farms that adopt it, using a simple, dedicated development environment.

Everything is open, transparent and affordable, while remaining secure. Agry is easy and straightforward to use because we believe software like this should be accessible to everyone. Whether you have a small vegetable garden or a large vineyard, the software should be the same: no expensive add-on modules, and ready to adapt to your needs and workflows from day one.

What does Agry offer?
In this first stage of development, we’ve focused mainly on the user experience and on making it easy for outside developers to contribute. We want Agry to become a powerful platform with a wide range of features over time. It already includes the tools needed to manage a farm logbook: activity planning, vegetable gardens, livestock, beekeeping, aquaculture, orchards, nurseries, cadastral maps, storage and tool sheds.

The system gathers useful information to help you see which activities are running behind schedule and where more water is being used than necessary. By checking the results in real time, you can improve your processes or replace a specific one with an automation that helps manage it. Agry keeps track of weather-related issues and gives you a map view of your farming project.

You can easily check all the activities scheduled in your farm logbook from your phone, thanks to the My Microeden app for Android and iOS and Agry Calendar.
Agry will receive regular free updates, informed in part by feedback from the community!
Agry is available for €24.90 per month with the Eden Keeper PRO plan, which also includes other benefits. You can try it free for 28 days without entering any payment details. It’s ready to support your work!
My Dot: an educational, powerful tool for watering pots and terraces
Alongside the two major software projects we’ve talked about, we want to create a hardware platform that helps Makers build small agri-tech automations. Starting with this idea and drawing on our experience designing Dot, we created My Dot: a board compatible with Arduino Nano ESP32, Arduino Nano 33 IoT, Arduino Nano Matter and other 3.3 V boards in the Arduino Nano family.

My Dot comes with 12 programmable LEDs, a relay that switches the input voltage at a terminal block, two user buttons, three Qwiic I2C ports, a 5 V fan driver, a microSD slot and a Bosch BME690 sensor for measuring temperature, humidity, pressure and air quality.
The My Dot project also includes a range of 3D-printable kits that you can download directly from our website.

And there’s more than just hardware! My Dot is completely open source. You’ll find the documentation on the Microeden Docs site, along with a free, flow-based development environment available with a My Microeden account. There’s also a library for the Arduino IDE, available on GitHub and through the Library Manager.

We think My Dot could be useful in schools, where students can build small growing-related automation projects and learn about the processes behind large industrial irrigation systems.
MyDot will be available for purchase in limited quantities at the Futura Elettronica booth at Maker Faire Rome 2026, from October 23 to 25!
